Kunzea ericoides var. linearis is to be considered another species to Kunzea ericoides 'Common'.

This tree is threatened and found around the Waitemata Harbour in the North Shore of Auckland and the odd locations on Auckland's Gulf islands and up north. 

This species is in serious decline and is found in coastal shrublands and cliff faces.

Flowers are smaller than Kunzea ericoides
