This takes it the driest of the all the Gahnias that we grow, which are naturally found in Auckland.
It forms a glossy yellow-green tussock but is not a dense tussock like G. setifolia and G. xanthacarpa.
Weeping flower spike extends beyond foliage.
The seed is difficult to germinate, and plants do not like root disturbance.
This plant is immediately distinguished from all other Gahnia species by its creeping rhizomes.
