An attractive native tree found in lowland forest from North Cape to Banks Peninsula.
It has attractive glossy dark green leaves and is naturally a single leader tree with a spreading canopy, making it an excellent specimen tree.
It has bright red fruit capsules that split to reveal shiny black seeds.
The fruit can take up to a year to mature.
