Microsorum scandens is a climbing fern abundant in forests throughout NZ. It was previously known as Phymatosorus scandens. It is very slow growing. The initial fronds are small & irregular in shape, often a single blade. The mature fronds tend to become more regular long and drooping. Spreads by rhizomes
